A friend of mine (who lives in Anyang) wants to take boxing lessons.

He can order from a Korean menu (and I think that's about it), so he's not sure where to go for boxing in his area.

Any suggestions?

Check out koreamartialarts.com

and if it isnt there, post it when you find your gym.

We are trying to organize and advertise gyms and fights.

Yeah, I went there for awhile. If you know where the Outback is, start there and walk towards the small overpass, it is just after that after a Paris Baguette on the right side of the road. There is a small sign with boxing gloves on it, go in the basement. Nice guy, no English, but will train with you if you want some instruction. Heavy bags, speed bags, even a small ring!
If I remember correctly, it was 100,000 for the 1st month(joining fee or some BS), and the next month was 60,000. Keep in mind he will train you as well..
It was a good place, just got a little pricey...

I train at 평촌권투체육관 which is right near beomgye station in that Pyeongchon 1st Street area. The main trainer speaks very little English, but he is really eager to try and seems pretty excited to have a foreigner there. There always seems to be a member there with really good English to translate if he cant get his point across. The other trainer speaks zero English and doesnt even try, but I've still learned a lot from him. It's a great gym. Pretty pricey, but I recommend it.
