Thank you guys for all of the responses.
I had no luck while looking into scholarships for gyopos in Korea. The only programs I have seen on the internet were for Korean-American that are going to attend college in the US, and some scholarships for international students to attend Korean colleges that are mostly based on academics and I have already missed the deadlines for them for this year.
I am also doubtful I would be able to support myself there while attending school full time. I would have to pay for my own apartment and medical insurance, and I would have to be able to get a part time job which I doubt I would be able to find easily without speaking Korean nor having a college degree. I don't have family there to be able to support me through school. If you know of any gyopos that were in a situation similar to mine I would like to hear about how they managed.
I think I will go through the TALK program and earn my degree from an American university online. I am hoping I can get financial aid and grants/scholarships to pay for the bulk of the tuition, and use the monthly paychecks I get in Korea to pay any of the remaining cost. Hopefully I can earn my degree in 3 years. After the three years of that, I would have a degree, experience, and will have adsorbed Korean culture so that I would be able to land a better job compared to spending 2-3 years here in the states earning my degree, and then going to Korea. |
