All this fear mongering by Harper will come back to backfire on him. it happened in Sask. when the opposition slagged off Brad Wall. In turn, Brad Wall became even more popular.
What needs to happen, if it hasn't already, is Iggy needs to swear on camera that he will not pursue the coalition. If he breaks his promise, watch Canada turn into Egypt and Libya v. 3. |

I would agree with you, if the ads were just nonsense the Conservatives made up. But every ad the the Conservatives air is well-sourced with citations and dates of what Iggy said and when he said it. They are trying to brand him as an out of touch elitist, and actually, he basically is.
Iggy said he will raise taxes.
He called the USA "his country."
He called himself a Pearson/Trudeau style tax and spend Liberal.
He said he supports a carbon tax.
He supported Stephen Dion's coalition.
He said he will not rule out a GST hike.
He said and voted to keep the wasteful/useless long-gun registry.
The Liberals picked a clueless elitist who has a vision of tax hikes, huge spending, and over-regulation. Yes, the truth hurts.

Actually, I agree. Lying to the Canadian people got Trudeau, Cretien, Martin, and Ontario Premier McGuinty elected. It's the Liberal way, say one thing, and do the exact opposite after getting power.
Harper has had some bumps, but he generally has kept most of his promises. |

Did Martin get elected? I thought he just won party leadership when creetin retired.
I would vote Harper if it were tomorrow. I am not deadset on him yet but never Iggy. Leyton is my 2nd pick. A far 2nd.
For the person who thinks Canada's economy sucks, maybe you're from Ontario. Then you'd be right. But Canada has one of the lowest deficits of all western nations. We had a surplus for several years into Harper's minority gov't was basically ordered to run a deficit to do a stimulus package.
We are a hotbed of resources. Diamonds were recently discovered in Saskatchewan. |

He won a minority in 2003. His main accomplishment was the health accord with the provinces. There was a vote of no confidence in 2006 and he lost the election to the conservative minority that we have today.

What would motivate you to choose Layton as your "second choice" after Harper? They're so radically different from a policy perspective that one would think supporting one would exclude even considering the other. |

Harper party is polling around 40%, according to most polls.
And his campaign has only been AVERAGE so far.
Might as well just hand the next 5 years to his steady, capable hands. It's quite clear people don't trust the coalition alternative. |
