oldtrafford: clearly you're the sort of person who talks at people and not with them. I see now that attempting to debate with you is a complete waste of time, since you haven't grasped even a single point, and are hurling meaningless strawman arguments left, right, and center. Simply put, you are so clueless as to be a write-off, your hackneyed Michael Moore schtick is a bore, and engaging with you any further is not worth it. Ciao.

Kettle calling pot black, me old matey!!

Oh, I grasped your points, I just don't agree with them. I believe in a welfare state, it's that simple!!

I'm not clueless my friend, you're a right wing ego manic, who clearly doesn't know what t you're writing about. Anybody who favours and proclaims the American health care system to be superior is off their rocker!!

Au revoir, me old mucker!! Don't you just LOVE the French, they have an even better welfare system than the U.K.

Yes. American hospitals are better.

France, Japan, and once in Canada. Not for anything life threatening, mind you. If I needed surgery or some serious procedure, I would be fine with the hospitals in any developed country, though a good American hospital would be preferable. My point was that most of the top hospitals in the world are in fact American, and have all the latest and best equipment. This is not to say that there is not plenty of excellent medical technology from Europe and elsewhere developed in the private sector. It's simply rationed in the socialist health care systems.

Right. So ruinous government spending is the problem, and your solution is to pander to the government in order to become rich? Or were you not aware that in 21st century fascist-socialist Britain (as in the US) only those who play ball with evil and have the proper political connections can hope to rise to such heights?

No. The solution is getting the government out of everybody's business and giving the economy back to free market enterprise (not corporatocracy, mind you). Redundant civil servants should be re-employed in the private sector and be paid according to merit.

Ruinous spending evil fascist-socialist Britain? Frak them, Glen Beck should drop the bomb over London.

Ooh, mockery. That's pretty clever-- it's almost as if you undermined my whole argument, just by being witty. What will you liberal-types think of next? Rolling Eyes

You undermined it yourself with your dictionary of hyperbole. How can anyone talk with you when you automatically through done such ridiculous terms and unfounded claims?

Pff. Since when has garbage collection in the UK been open to free market enterprise and deregulated to allow competition? The mayor probably let his spoiled cretin of a nephew set up a shell company to take over the existing shoddy infrastructure ("privatization") in a no-bid government contract and let him run it further into the ground before finally bailing him out with even more tax money (instead of letting him go bankrupt as he deserved). Nothing says "free market" like cronyism and spending other peoples' money without any real liability.

Agreed. So, do you want less government controls and the handing over of the NHS to private companies?

As for bankrupting nations, you've got it ass backwards on that one. All the real wealth is generated in the private sector. All the government does is collect taxes and spend other peoples' money. Civil servants also pay zero net taxes, since all their income is derived from tax revenue to begin with. Just one giant bloated tick sucking the life blood from its host.

So unregulated banking is not to blame for the financial crisis? Also here is a list of UK tax dodgers:
Boots
Sir Philip Green
Vodafone
Tesco
RBS/Natwest
Lloyds
Barclays

That's just the point. The terms do readily apply and are not unfounded. "Fascist-socialist" is just one of describing the corrupt central government teaming up with the private banks and corporations to monopolize and dominate the rest of us, while taxing us into submission. Resorting to mockery instead of trying to understand this reality will get you nowhere.

Do you honestly not understand the difference between crony capitalism (government backed private monopolies) and the free market?? Is it really so difficult to grasp?

Quote:

See, here's the problem. A lot of fairly bright liberal types out there mean well, but have absolutely no clue whatsoever how money works or where it comes from. Pretty much all further misunderstanding stems from this fundamental ignorance. Do understand what a "central bank" is? It's a government imposed monopoly on the issuance of currency. Without the government fiat, there would be no private banking cartel, period. Therefore calling the current fractional reserve, fiat-based, central banking monetary system "unregulated" is an oxymoron.

Not sure what you expect me to do with this list... Were you expecting me to defend any of the above? I am a proponent of free market capitalism. Nearly all the major global corporations in the world today are owned and controlled by the globalist banking cartels based out of Wall Street and the City of London. This is the monopoly capitalism enforced at the barrel of a gun by central governments.

And I suppose we're to use your posts as illustrative examples of the consequences of said 'free education'?
