| I've also spent some time in Turkey and I'll also vouch for it's beauty, friendliness and quality of food. I was really taken aback by how much I loved it. It's also very rich in ancient history/historical sites. It's somewhere I'm seriously considering going after Korea. |

Yeah, the Odyssey by Homer took place in Turkey when it was still part of the Greek Empire |

I have always wanted to go and check out the ruins of Troy myself. Even if there isn't much left. |

| Also well worth a visit is Ephesus, there's a lot left of that although the best part has crumbled. The gospel of John was supposed to have been written there. The Temple of Apollo is cool too. |

I'm planning to go there in mid-October (along with Istanbul and perhaps another place or two in Turkey). |

cyui, You absolutely do not need to be a Muslim to enjoy Turkey. While it is majority Muslim, its a relatively secular country. I thought this was common knowledge? I've spent a good amount of time there and it's a fantastic place. I don't know anyone who has been to Istanbul who did not agree it was among the worlds truly great cities.
I can't comment on work in Turkey, but based on my experience it's something I would consider in the future. |
