For those of you who married a Korean woman while in Korea. We will get married in 2 months out here in Korea. I'm thinking of extending my contract out here if it takes a while to get through the legal hoops which would allow my wife to work in Canada with me. |

After the marriage it takes 3-6 months for the family class immigration paperwork to get completed.
If she has a PR visa to enter Canada she is legal to work the day after she lands (even though it make take a while to get a SIN card).
If you do NOT get the PR application done and she goes to Canada with you (as a tourist) it can take about 2 years for the PR application to complete.
She can apply for a work permit during the application process but it takes about 6 months for approval and she MUST maintain her (legal) status in the country during the process.
