Yes, I realize this is an odd question.

I got my FBI background check, but I got it too early. I believe (though I could be wrong) that it needs to be less than 6 months old when you turn it in. If this is indeed the case, i got it about a month too early. My job ends in august, and I am hoping to start a new job in october or so. (now to october=7 months)

But I seem to remember reading somewhere (perhaps a missive from SMOE, or maybe here, though I can't find anything now) that one can turn in their FBI check any time, and it will remain valid indefinitely so long as you don't leave the country for more than 3 months. Any of this sounding right?

So to sum up, my questions are:

1. Must the FBI check be less than 6 months old (when turned in or when job starts?)?
2. Can one turn this in any time, even during a current contract?
3. If #2 is possible, will it then remain valid beyond the current contract, and perhaps in perpetuity until the end of time so long as I don't leave Korea for more than 3 months, or do I need a new one each year?
4. Am I making all this up?
5. Why isn't the Korean immigration website comprehensive enough to save me from begging for answers here?

Thanks so much for any and all replies!

1. I believe so.
2. Yes I believe so again.
3. I believe you are right again (don't leave for more than 3 mo)
4. I have no idea nor do I care.
5. I bet their government websites are no more inept than ours or yours.

Thanks for the input! I'll try to get further confirmation and make this thing happen.

Good luck with getting any information from the Koreans. I have gotten little or no inforamtion from EPIK or Immigrations. It is just a big cluster &*%#.
