I would love to do a Master's in History of the Vietnam War. Why would that be useless? Because everyone has already covered every angle of it. |

It'd be pretty cool to be an expert in something random like, swashbuckling in the 1750's or antarctic penguin mating. |

Russian is far from useless.
For me, medieval property law. |

Yesterday I downloaded the CBS News special that aired (4 parts to it, I believe) on the Vietnam war. You can find the torrents on EZTV. I haven't watch them yet, but looking forward to it.
I also find Greek mythology and history from the ancient / classical antiquity periods interesting. I wonder if these degrees would have been more useless than my TESOL degrees? |

My friend did his PhD at Cambridge in 18th century weaving in Wiltshire. Presumably he's the world's foremost expert on it now since it's so obscure.
(It's a PhD in history) |

I'd love to publish some kind of study on the variations of English in Atlantic Canada. Yes b'ys I would.
Though there is much written on it I would love to know more about the Highland Clearances. Not useless but probably a bit obscure.
I'd also like to be able to make those neat little schooners in the rum bottles. |

It's like those random PHD's you see interviewed on the history channel or discovery about some obscure event in history. "Ronald Deenwither - Expert on snake migration in northern asia during the 17th century"
Gotta get your 15 mins of fame somehow i guess.. |

I'd like to become an expert in early 20th century Scottish Gaelic poetry, the Norn language, and the role of clans in early Scottish history. Also, I'd like to have a stab at studying whether there are differences in the use of Scottish Gaelic in the Gaelic speaking communities in North America and Oceania. |

I'd learn a dead language, like Latin or French. |

I"m kind of the opposite of everyone on this thread. I consider myself to be a bit of jack of all trades and have a ton of diverse interests, but I really get bored when I get down to specifics in any of them. |

I'd like a Ph.D. on cheese. Seriously. It's origins, trends, evolution, etc...
or possibly some other obscure bougie thing like a Ph.D. in Origami and how it relates to theoretical physics....
The French was a good one though |
