Check Your Samsung Laptop for a Keylogger
Adam Pash Samsung is currently shipping laptops with keyloggers pre-installed on some machines, according to security expert Mohamed Hassan on Network World. Keyloggers are a form of spyware that tracks all your keypresses on your computer (generally including passwords) and, in most instances, sends that information to a third party for analysis. It's unclear the extent to which Samsung has distributed this keylogger software and what hardware it's on (Hassan found it running on R525- and R540-model laptops), but if you own a Samsung computer, it's worth running a pass with your antivirus or anti-spyware app-of-choice for a little piece of mind. (We actually really like Microsoft's security tools.)
Any Samsung laptop owners notice this before? Or now? Let's hear how you rooted it out in the comments. [Network World]
