I live in Virginia and I was told to get my CBC copied and then get the copy on the CBC notarized, send both to the authentication department and they would apostille both for me. When they sent them back they only apostilled my COPY. I called them and they were basically like "Oops. Well, it's alright, you only need the copy apostilled. You can send the copy to the country and keep the original and it'll be fine."
TL;DR - If I have my COPY of my CBC notarized and apostille'd would that be enough or do I NEED to get my ORIGINAL CBC apostilled in order to get a Visa? Please only post if you're sure. |

| I just wanted to let you guys know (in case anyone else had the same question) after some searching and speaking with a recruiter that using the copy of the CBC is fine as long as it is notarized and apostilled. |

| Yeah, for future reference for others, in reality you should get the apostille and then make copies, not the other way around. |
