I just saw on Facebook that Napalm Death will be playing in Seoul in June (on a Saturday, finally):

https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=142947189106139

While I can't say I'm the biggest Napalm Death fan, it would be worth it to go if only to check out what's left of Shane Embury's hair:

Band info here:

That was the news 60 years ago.

Well, they're dubbing it as 'Asia Metal Fest'; why is beyond me. One Taiwanese band, a handful of local bands, Napalm Death and the horrendous Italian power metal band SkyLark (although their vocalist is hot).

Not a single decent Japanese band like Sigh, Sabbat, Church Of Misery etc.

Anyone else planning to go? It's always fun seeing the Korean "metal" fans with their Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir t-shirts at least.

This is pretty cool. I'm not a fan of this scene at all but it's nice to see more touring acts stop in Seoul. If you like metal at all you should come out and show some love. It may encourage more bands to come in the future.

Oh, never heard of them. I thought some B-52's or something were flying over Seoul(and no, not the rock band).

I agree that it would be nice seeing more bands come over here, but the market is slim. Take a look at the metal selection at any CD store here, Korean metalheads like Euro power metal (aka flower metal) a lot, Helloween, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody etc. I think they like the guitar work, not too sure.

Anyway, doubt we'll be seeing bands like Inquisition or The Weird Lord Slough Feg coming to Korea any time soon.

PS - If you see a Korean acting in this manner, run!

Bumping this up as it's getting closer - if anyone wants to meet at the show or before it, post here or send me a PM. I'll be going with my Canadian metal buddy, we're friendly enough and do enjoy metal - doom, thrash, trad, black etc and most certainly do not like nu-metal or 'core, so you won't have to worry about being stuck with posers or anything.

I'd also like to remind people of the importance of going to shows like this - it might mean better bands coming over in the future, and that's never a bad thing.

I'm going, but I'll be there later on as I have things to do that day. Looking forward to Napalm Death.

Dodt!

Well, perhaps they can recruit another high speed metal band...such as, the Murderjunkies?

Too bad this isn't the Napalm Death of 20 years ago when they were touring with Carcass and Godflesh.
