My school seems to be playing musical chairs with my co-teachers and I'm exhausted. The person that I've worked with the most, who is most qualified to recommend me does not have a title but I asked her to write a letter anyway. The titled person's letter has a massive grammar error in it and lacks contact info. I've only known her for a month and I don't want to ask her to rewrite it, so I think that I will include both letters in my next job application package...or should I? (I'm currently at a Gepik school and will apply to EPIK/SMOE for this fall.)

I've always written my own recommendation letters and just asked the person to read it and sign it. Unless they really wanted to write their own. This gave them much less to do and it came out the way I wanted it to.

What exactly do you write in those letters? We're gonna need some recommendations soon.

You teach good lessons.
You get along well with your fellow teachers and administration.

What a fool I was to put thought into it. Thanks for setting me straight. Wink

I wrote something like this:

In my current position as......I have enjoyed working with Illysook.

She filled in the words "Native English Instructor."

She also didn't put a date, any sort of letterhead, or contact info. Then she signed her name and beneath it typed "president of the school." It's awful and I'm going to have to tell her that it's awful. I'm almost insulted, but I know that she's busy and doesn't really concern herself with me or anything that I do in my classes. No one does...until they are in the classroom with me and sometimes not even then. Sometimes, I ask for help but they still don't lift a finger. Two months ago, I thought that I wanted to renew. Not anymore! Perhaps Gepik's removal of funding was a favor to me.

Why don't you goofballs just have your ko-teachers write those letters of reference in their native language?

That's what I do.
