does anyone know a good hagwon for someone who would like to learn korean in the gangnam area?

also, are there any people out there in the gangnam area who are bored at nite and have begun their new year here teaching? I ask this because many of my transient teacher-friends have started their yearly exodus and my numbers are about to be thinner and i would like to start repopulating them, aka, friends are awesome to have.

I can't help you find a Korean language hagwon, but I can help you find friends. You see, I'm the organizer of a Meetup/Facebook group called Lost in Seoul. We're non-profit and exist to help you meet people and have an awesome time in Seoul and Korea. We'll be hanging out at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Yeouido, Seoul on April 16th. There's definitely nothing wrong with looking for friends on here. (People usually write a "Looking for Friends/People to Hang out with" post on here once a month.) But at least tell us about yourself or your hobbies.

Do you like throwing water balloons off of buildings? Great! Do you sip tea (with your pinky finger sticking out) while talking about the rain in Spain? Cool! Do you scream, "Death to false metal!" while defiling graves? Awesome!

I'll be moving to Gangnam at the end of the month, first time in Korea, I'm in the same boat.

I lived in Gangnam next to Coex for 2 years, and Ive been in Korea for 10 or so. Ill say I saw the same look of boredom and glassy-eyed uninspiredness in Masan, Daegu, Gangnam, and Jeju-Do. Unless you need to live in that area or get a free apartment (i met some ET who was brand new and had a hagwon job right at Gangnam Station with a decent salary and a free apt, and I went on telling him how LUCKY he was, and he didnt get it. dumb kid:) ).

Yes, theres more English speakers there and they have a few more restaurants, but I find Gangnam to be boring, just nouveux riche Asians trying to act like Tokyo-ites. meh.
