|
|
Hi guys!
Its my birthday on Sunday and my gf loves Indian food and I do as well, so she wants to take me out. Any recommendations on good places to eat Indian food in Seoul? I saw a place in Hongdae for Indian/Nepalese which looks ok though I have only been in Seoul a week and unsure where to eat. Any suggestions?? Thanks |

I personally like Namaste. There are two locations I know about in Seoul.
1) Jonggak Station (Line 1)
Go out exit 3. It is in the basement of Jongno Tower. One floor up from the bookstore.
2) Dongmyo-Ap Station (Line 1 and 6)
Go out exit 5. It is in the building immediately outside of the exit on the second floor.
The Jonggak location is more expensive (by at least 3,000W-4,000W) and seemed like smaller portions. The Dongmyo-ap location has a much better atmosphere as well and the head waiter (maybe the owner) is really nice.
Edit: I have heard good things about the Everest restaurant as well. |

Those places around Sinchon/Hongdae are usually really expensive for shitty portions and really, REALLY Koreanized versions of the original. |

I like the place next to HUFS. I can't remember the name, but it's 30 seconds out of exit 5/6 on the left hand side as you're heading out of the 외대앞 subway stop on the way to HUFS. |

Second on Namaste. I've been to the Dongmyo spot a few times and always left satisfied. |

I like Taj Palace in Itaewon. They have a buffet on weekends. Every time I have gone, they have served butter chicken, tandoori chicken, saag chicken, aloo bean, vegetable curry, and several other dishes. It's served with garlic and plain naan. They also have really good chai. |

I'm not sure if the place I went to was the Taj Palace like the poster above mentioned, but I went to one in Itaewon and it was really good. Itaewon has a lot of ethnic/foreign food, so it should be a safe bet. |

I like Durga, also in Jongno. Behind Woori Bank, across the street from Jongno Tower (towards Chungyechun)
They have a solid selection, and friendly service. Tad pricey. |

My buddy who is Malay Indian/grew in in India really likes Agra, if that counts for anything. I'm a fan myself, but my basis for Indian food is mostly Montreal, which has a pretty poor scene. |
