If you guys start making jokes about how it would be great if women were raped until their reproductive organs are damaged, then sure I'll be going to the mods again. I think it's quite sad that you guys can't see that you crossed a line. It is also very pathetic that you would use another thread to try and get at me.

You guys? One person made the joke. And then you decided to take it upon yourself to clean up "our" acts.
Its okay, I know you're going to lock this thread because of Ya-Ta's joke about how best to respond to harassment speech. I mean, this thread is really all about how to handle offensive speech. Its not about you in particular.

And the last guy who said something like this to me had a tiny manhood. Seriously we could all go on slinging insults at eachother until this thread gets locked, or you can get back to the discussion and leave me out of it. Now, you're going to have to learn to live with the fact that different people have different opinions. Different people have different ideas of humor and their boundaries of what amuses them. Even the most murderous, totalitarian governments have not been able to end diversity of thought. Having threads locked on a site nobody knows about does not in any meaningful way improve the world. |

There is a difference between expressing an opinion and simply being abusive. For instance, here in Germany you are not allowed to swear at another person....it is illegal and quite rightly so as it is simply threatening speech and nothing to do with expressing an opinion. |
