it looks like i'm going to have to leave the country and come back at the end of may because i'm on a tourist visa. i'm guessing the cheapest country to go to would be japan (though i could be wrong). i'm wondering if anyone knows what is the cheaper option would be: flying or taking the ferry from busan. anyone have some knowledge of this which they can share? Smile

If you live in seoul it's more or less the same. Even in Busan I think it works out to about the same. By the time you take a train down to busan and then take the ferry over.
Last time I checked it was around 50,000 each way for the train and then 200,000 for the ferry, and a plane ticket was 300,000 at the time round trip.

Flying is cheaper. If you're in Seoul, Jeju Air has cheap flights to Japan from Incheon and Gimpo.

If you're in Busan, I believe Busan Air has cheap flights to Japan too.

I realize there are more than 2 cities in Korea, but these are the options I've heard of. Very Happy

Why hurry? Get one of those inflatable pool chairs and an cooler of beer. Make a day (or 2) trip out of it.

Very Happy

Just curious, why so long on a tourist visa? Come on, you can tell me. I won't tell anyone- it's just between you and me! Cool
