I want the proper ajossi with a bucket of hot charcoal action too.

I really like the place between MWG and Matmata. It's open all night and has a good atmosphere as well as great tasting galbi.

It is great - but - it doesn't have the charcoal bucket thing. It's one of those gas ones. still good though. especially for the late night munchies.

This is from my site, no charcoal but fuggin awesome:

It's just down the street from Hodge Podge, not the main street with Joker Red and MI, the smaller one that intersects it.

Ye the place next to Matmata is pretty decent. The portions are generous and they're easy with any extras you'll need like lettuce leaves or garlic (for example).

Not to mention its open till late. I still fondly remember stuffing our faces with meat after an attack of the late night munchies after the January Hongdae meet.. :)

jae.

Man there is the most amazing Kalbi place. Go out exit 2, Hongdae Station, turn left, then go straight 12 blocks. Turn left at the pharmacy. Walk until you see the KTF store, then turn right. You'll see a PC bang on your right next to a SK telecom and 7-11. Take the next left and follow that street 7 blocks until you come to a bunch deokboki stands. Pass them and take a right at the Family Mart and go straight until you see a video arcade and a flower shop. The kalbi restaurant is across the street nex to the the DVD bang. King Kim's Kalbi - can't miss it. Best place in Korea....

Let me know how you liked it.
