I'm not too sure how long this has been around, but when I was really young I thought it would be a good idea to have a washing machine that once it was finished cycling, would convert into a dryer so if you were out you wouldn't have to run back home to dry the clothes. I was about 10 maybe.
Also I had another:
Kind of gross.....but.....As you were going #2 there would be some sort of vacuum inside the toilet bowl that would suck the "fumes" down and out of the bathroom so it would still smell fresh for the next person that was about come in and use it. Lol, I just recently heard about some expensive toilet that does that. Hmmmm, to think I could have gotten rich off of that invention... Laughing

All ideas derived from something else. No one just 'though" something up one day. Yeah maybe it was new in the fact that it was "redone", but everthing came from past time.

One things for sure, don't post your ideas' publicly on here ( someone could copy it for sure) as you never know when there could be an "advancement" on your idea.

yep, when i was 10, i wanted an etch-a-sketch that could be used to play atari games (im old) and carry it around.

that would be an ipad or a nintendo ds/psp...

I once put on a bathrobe backwards. Someone must have seen what I'd done and turned it into the Snuggie. I need to find a lawyer ASAP!

When I was in 8th grade we had to do a project in science class that basically foretold what technology would look like in 50 years.
My group came up with a TV that would be paper thin or a TV that would be 3D.

I'm sure that the TV companies were working on flat-screens long before I even thought about it.

what i can tell you is that filing a patent is an incredibly long, complex and expensive process...
i was involved in EU patents and you'd be amazed at some of the things people try to patent

When I was around 13 (early 90s), and young fellas still had to rely on magazines and pirated VHS tapes in order to see naked ladies, I often thought how cool it would be if it could be had at the click of a button. Then someone invented the internet and stole my idea.

I had a great idea that recently became patented.

I'm interested in a lot of different kinds of technology and I was daydreaming about ways to get spacecraft into orbit without using tonnes of rocket fuel. Then I rode the maglev train in Shanghai and it hit me: make a really, really long maglev runway and have it curve upwards at the end when the craft approaches top speed and then have it release, giving the craft thousands of meters in altitude before it even needed to ignite it's engines.

I carried that idea around with me in my head for a few years and then I found out that scientists were actually working on this Laughing

I totally invented stuffed crust pizza. Whenever my family went to pizza hut when I was young, I always tore open the crust and stuffed cheese and toppings inside. It wasn't until a couple years later that I started seeing commercials for cheese crust pizza.

REFLEX system solutions, a database management company providing companies with instant info on government regulations and market forces, an intermediary between the private and public sector. THAT was my idea, as vice president of marketing, our college commerce program team winning the provincial business competiton against several other colleges with that idea developed and simulated. My team and I got a free computer with the win, along with generous scholarships if we were to pursue chartered accountacy. One of us became CEO of a real life pizza chain (Panago Pizza), another became a real estate agent, another got married and popped out kids, and I became a journalist, the last time I had touched base with them.

Our db mgnt idea was adopted by some B.C. Liberal politically minded guys who milked it for millions. Our REFLEX name was adopted by two companies, one of whom had been a sponsor of our original student competition; we shoulda sued them!

Gawd life is fun. I think I lived more in one month back home than I do in a year here, and yet, and yet, I have the time and appreciation of life here that I simply didn't have there. Here I reflect, I relax, I look back and forward and sidewards and all over, and love my life here as much as elsewhere. But really, in terms of accomplishment, impact on the world, I was more of a player back there. (Hell, a top-40 musician back home Chantal Kreviazuk wrote a song about my premarital relationship with her best cousin's good friend, something that barely impacted me then but seems pretty amazing to me now.)
