I almost never tire of watching my cat do cat things. When we had a backyard, I grew a vegetable garden not so much for the produce but for the joy of watching her stalk pests...I was sorta lazily organic...couldn't afford fertilizers and pesticides but didn't have the time to save plants with any serious problems...cut the bad parts off and eat the rest I say! |

It was funny until the cat caught the bird. Then I was sad. |

The only reason a bird would do that would be to protect a nest full of babies, which are now also going to die. |

I showed that clip to a class today as we were studying comparatives and so I asked them which was smarter, the bird or the cat and they said the bird was smarter! I asked why, since the cat killed the bird in the end, and they said the cat was faster. How very un-American that thought is! Actions are judged by their consequences according to the pragmatic method, and hence that bird was one stupid *beep*. |
