does anyone know of a site that lists korean mobile phone release dates? i'm very curious when the motorola atrix 4g and galaxy s2 are being released and on what carrier(s)

thanks goochmon. i'm really torn between the atrix with the laptop dock, the galaxy s2 or the iphone5. i already have a iphone 3gs so i don't really need another iphone unless the 5 is that revolutionary, and i also have an lg optimus q that i'm just a little bored of, although it's been great and having a qwerty board is something that just can't really be replaced.

Check out the Engadget review of the Atrix. It is a really cool powerful phone but they have some insightful criticisms as well.

All these new dual core smart phones I'm having a hard time myself sifting out which to buy. I really like the Optimus 2x for its HDMI ability and 1080p camera. The Galaxy 2 for its screen and sleek design. The Atrix for its LTE 4G ability and powerful system but as these are the innovators in the dual core tech I am not sure which to buy. I haven't found much information on whats to expect on the I phone 5 other than a dual core. I want to go Andriod just to have the custom interface and access to whats under the hood.

The Atrix is already out. I have some in stock, had them for around a week now.

The ones i have are KT, haven't heard anything about SK releasing them yet.

S2 release date is the 25th from KT.

Just google "삼성갤럭시 s2" and you'll find a heap of news articles saying the same thing (in korean). I've also noticed SK have a release date(?) a few days before KT. Anyone confirm?

By the way, how would one go about getting one when they get released? Just rock up at the nearest global store and sign up on a plan or what? Confused

I am with SK telecom so I am waiting for them to release their dual core phones so I can swap my SIM between my blackberry and what will be my new smart phone.

What are your opinions on the big 3, being the Atrix, Galaxy 2, and Optimus 2?

I think my favorite is the Optimus 2 but I am patiently waiting to hear how the others compare.

I would say as of right now the Atrix is the best deal.

The Galaxy S2 is going to be insanely expensive right off the bat. The Atrix seems to be a pretty solid phone, if you're a motorola fan.

I'm a Galaxy fan, so of course I think the S2 is gonna smoke the competitors, especially if they fixed some of the small issues on the original.

The optimus 2x...to me seems like a rush job to get a jump on the dual core market. I'm not doubting it's a nice phone, but it could have been better.

Now, my main concern with dual core phones is battery life. Just do a quick search around for people complaining of issues with their smartphone battery life, now add an extra processor, larger screen and updated graphics capabilities. The smartphones are changing, but the batteries are staying the same. How long do you think your dual core phone will last you before you curse the batteries, or buy an extra one so you can keep 3 charged batteries around for when one dies?

I agree with the battery life comment. The Atrix is the only one of these new dual core phones using a 1900mhz battery (that I know of) while the others are using a 1500mhz battery. If you use it like a standard phone 1500mhz should get you through the day, but if you use your phone for video, internet, or games ( as you should) with medium to heavy use I doubt a full day on a single charge would be feasible.

I really like the Atrix and the Optimus 2x, I like the Atrix mainly for its design, screen and power. The 2x for its design, camera, and HDMI mirroring. I think that the Galaxy s2 will be stupid expensive but it does look pimp! Just too big for me at 4.3 inches.

Does anybody know the respective prices these phones carry? I've got a fever and the only remedy is a new bad as* phone.

The optimus 2x rings in at around 920k-960k factory price (I'm too lazy to go check the books) While the Atrix comes in at around 840k-880k factory price.

Of course those prices can be discounted depending on which plan you sign up for...ETC.
