I gave my notice today with the date being about a week after a full six months.

My director suggested I could leave sooner (which would be wonderful ) and said she would give me a letter of resignation, but I didn't think I could transfer unless I absolutely hit the 6 month mark.

any comments or advice?

Is it in your contract that you have to return the money for airfare if you leave within the first six months?

That doesn't really haveanything to do with my question, but it's funny you asked because my boss mentioned that.

I just said I didn't think there was anything in my contract about that. However another teacher did have that in her contract.

I told my boss we should sit down with a calendar and my contract and talk some more. I have the feeling I'll be filing with labor in a couple months. LOL

That's like you firing you. The school won't give you a letter of resignation. YOU GIVE THE SCHOOL!!!

They will simply draft a letter making it look like it came from you.

Make sure you also get the agreements that they will do for you in another letter.

As for the airfare, don't talk about it, don't bring it up.

Your main focus now is on finding a new school. After you find a new school, then negotiate. Contact me if you need me for further help.

I meant letter of release. LOL

A recruiter just told me that I don't need 6 months, but I'd like to confirm that.

Can anyone else confirm that Immi had relaxed the rule regarding the six months at the first job?

I think you definitely need to have worked there for 6 months.

1 month...possibly less if you have letter of release.

6 months was the old rule.
