Ha... why does it seem like every thread I start is about getting very drunk or eating a lot...??
Anyway I'm wondering if anyone's recently been to that wine buffet at the International Coex Hotel, I believe. It used to be 23,000W or something, but I heard the price was raised dramatically... like 40,000W or something. Anyone know anything about this? Was thinking of hitting it tomorrow night with some friends... |

I think it depends on the night you go. I went one night and it was 23,000. Then, I went about two weeks later and it was 44,000 I think. The latter time had an expanded buffet though compared to the former, which was limited. |

I went when it was 23,000. I made sure to drink 230,000 worth of wine.
If the price went up, I'm sticking to my gutter. |

I caught an online snippet saying it had indeed been changed to 40,000W. But it's far out of my way, so I'll never know either way. |

My friend went to the Coex Intercontinental on Saturday night and said that it was 31,000 including tax. There was a lot of food and a good selection of wines. (Apparently 3 different kinds of red and white, sangria, beer and makoli)
The Novotel in Gangnam also has one which is around the same price, but with fewer food and drink choices. There's a Filipino cover band that starts playing about half way through the night who aren't bad to dance to. |

It's a terrible experience these days. Too many people and the newer layout creates a lot of traffic with all the drinks and food in the same place. Food has gotten worse. They crank up the volume on the piano lady.
Plus, too many embarrassing foreigners bringing entire bottles of wine to their tables. I saw one table with at least a dozen bottles poorly hidden under their table.
God I hate other foreigners here sometimes...................... :/
I wouldn't recommend going there even if the price was still 23k won.
Credentials: I've been there at least 15 times in the past few years and as recent as 2 months ago. |

I've been there twice, fairly recently. I think we paid around 25 or so, but I can't remember exactly (obviously this was after a few hours of substantial drinking). It was a good deal at that price, but I agree that it was overcrowded and the layout was terrible - I was there on Saturdays both times. |
