It seemed rather ill-thought out. "Let's send the kids home early so that they can sit in front of computers/tvs/etc./etc. all day so they won't be exposed to any radiat..... Oh damn. It doesn't really work as an idea, does it?"

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2011/04/07/south-korea-rain-radiation.html

The headline is "South Korea schools close over radiation in rain fears" Maybe it is a bad choice of wording, but i doubt its because the author has been in Korea too long (or has ever been there).

Some lucky dogs had off because of light rain? I would love to teach at one of those kinds of schools. Instead my schools are always open. There could be an actual attack from radiation rain, Godzilla, brain slugs, and Lrrrr from the planet Omicron Persei 8, and there'd still English class that day.

The program also recommended carrying an umbrella and wearing a raincoat when there's rain.

The doctor also said seaweed, water and beer were good food products to prevent radioactive materials staying in the body.

Wow.

Nice. I love it when Korean stupidity makes it into the national news arena.
