because I work in a public school and have to put in a lot of 'face time' However the students are now walking around giving me morning tea so life aint' so bad.

And for katydid

There once was a teacher of math.
Who's eyes were focused on my rack.
He says 'am I handsome?'
'sure, you look like my dad'
And then he was all in a flap.

Did you ask for the day off? Or did you just assume that the working at a "public school" you can't get these days off.

I get days off all the time if there are no classes. Ask the English teacher at your school to talk to the Vice Principal about it.

Last week, the 2nd graders at our school went to Seoul. That left me with one morning class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. By 10:15 I was on my way back home. You just gotta ask.
