Any problem getting reference letters for EPIK jobs? Seems EPIK really boxes you in by forcing you to grovel before a principal for one of these. Some of them seem not to want to be bothered to give one. Kind of frustrating to have the experience and be blocked by this road block. Any one else finding similiar issues? Maybe I have to do an academy for a year, just so I can switch. Stupid bureacracy. Thing is I can use coteachers for references and just give their phone number on my resumes. But it's quite frustrating. |

To get my reference letter, I asked my co-teacher to ask the principal. This work for me since it has been over a year since I taught at that school. Since my principal does not speak English, my co-teacher ended up writing the letter and just having the principal sign it. |

Co-teacher's reference is just fine. I've never been asked for my old principal's contact info. |
