I tried Pizza Peel and was reeeaaally disapointed. Yes, the place has a cool oven, but the Pizza sucks Sad

The cheese is definatley the same fake cheese many other pizza places over here use - u can tell just by looking at it because grated cheese should not come in little squares. Also, the sauce isnt good.

So far, the best pizza i have had was in an 'itallian restaurant' on the mountain beside the North Seoul tower! The cheese is definately real and the sauce tasted like a warm tomatoey hug from North America! There was even freshly grated parmesan Very Happy. The price wasnt great though(16-22 thousand won for a pizza).

What about Redcap Pizza? That seems to be one of the "upscale" cheap places.

Pizza Peel is the best pizza around. They use the freshest ingredients, real cheese and tomato sauce. The only other really good one is DiMatteo's in Hyehwa, owned by this Korean comedian.

I went there recently based on reviews from this site and others. Big let down. It was a soggy mess. The service was terrible too. We had to ask the waitress repeatedly for drinks, cutlery, napkins, etc. Really basic stuff.

Beer O'Clock is the best American style pizza I've had in Korea. There are plenty of good Italian style places I've been in Gwanghwamun, Samcheong-dong and other places but they're a bit on the pricey side.

I got to go with 59 Pizza as having the best pizza here. It blows Pizza School out of the water. It's THAT good.

wow hope they were packed to neglect the service.

I read a review in the groove mag, one so called Italian guy said,
that his pizza's rival the pizzas in Naples..... LOL hahahahahahaa
I almost spat out my beer all over the magazine!

what an insulting thing to say to all the Pizziouli in Napoli , guys who have been making pizza all their lives, and this Canadian guy flew to Naples and did a crash course over the weekend and now he rivals Da Michele or del Presidente, plllleeeeaaassseeeeee

first of all let me tell me about true Napolitan pizza which Pizza peel is not doing.
first.
his oven is a GAS OVEN , in Napoli they use WOOD ovens designed by builders who have been crafting them for 200 years. built by hand!
they cook with wood and only wood. NO GAS.
second, the tomatoes are san marzano grown in mt vesuvius ash soil.

third, the cheese is fiore di latte or water buffalo . he is certainly not using that! unless he has it flown in weekly and passing through inspection. also you can tell by the pizza he is just using shredded pizza cheese.it's cheaper after all.

so that last review was to much! the owners of Pizza peel should of read that review before it went to print and said.. HOLD ON A SECOND. don't compare with a city which has been making pizza for 200 years and will kill over it. he should just be stating he is a foreigner making Pizza for foreigners.
because that pizza is not Napolitan!
the closet True napolitan Pizza in Seoul
is Via Di Napoli, Di Matteo and Salvatore cuomo

Pizza peel is a Pizza joint that's all.

I've had 59 Pizza. Didn't think it was any better than Pizza School in terms of price/taste and I rate both "good" on my Korean pizza scale.

Penny Pinch Pizza and Costco are my faves. I can actually taste the ingredients in both of these. "very good" on my Korean pizza scale.

Anyone who thinks its weird to have corn or carrots on a pizza with ketchup needs to consider how utterly bizarre and grotesque an All-Meat (pepperoni, ham, sausage, bacon) pizza with ranch dressing is.

A pizza should ideally have only one meat and varying vegetables.

Pizza for the summer: Onion, Green Pepper, Tomato, Pineapple. Served Cold. Refreshing, delightful.
