So my mom brought me a kindle when she visted me a few weeks ago, and I sent her home with the cable (thinking that the cable was the same as the 6 other ones I own for my camera, hard drives, etc). I have now realized that I don't have one that will fit my kindle, and am therefore now unable to charge it.

Is this worth a trip to Yongsan, or am I going to have to get my mom to send it and wait 10 years to receive it?

The Kindle charging cord is just a standard usb to mini-usb data cable. You can buy them almost anywhere. I am sure you wouldn't have any problem finding one at Yongsan.

Just bring your Kindle with you to Yongsan and find the one that fits.

Or a quick solution, you can just look for a PS3 cord that charges the controller. Same cord. Find it at most Homepluses or Emarts.

Can you confirm that you have used this cord for the kindle? My coworker said he'd bring his for me but he was also talking about how it fits all his other electronics which has me believing that maybe it is the same chord that I already have for my other electronics.....

It works I use either my PS3 controller cord, Galaxy S cord, or my camera cord to charge the Kindle. I have had every generation of Kindle and it has worked for all of them. I am sure you have one laying around somewhere if you have a few electronics around the house.

my kindle 3 does not use the same cable as a PS3 controller or Digital camera. It is a proprietary cable that I had never seen before. half the size of standard mini usb cable.

Problem solved: Micro USB cable bought at Emart for 5,000 won. It is marketed as a data cable for a smart phone. Seems to be charging my kindle just fine! Oh and I should add that this was for a Kindle 3 in case anyone was confused! God bless Emart!
