Korean-American or Korean need only apply.
What about a Korean-Australian who is fluent in Korean and English?
What about a Korean-Canadian who is fluent in Korean and English?
What about a Korean-Chinese who is fluent in English, Chinese, and Korean?
There could be no place for the mistreatment or prejudice of persons according to race, colour, descent or ethnic origin in this world. |
I believe that the F4 visa was only available to Korean Americans up until recently (or may still be). Perhaps they were looking to hire someone but don't want to have to deal with sponsoring a visa. |

Gord,
I tend to agree with you. It may be some visa issue.
But, to post in a job announcement that one of the job requirements is to be Korean-American or Korean seems to violate anti-discrimination policies and regulations. |

So they take the specification out of the advertisement, take applications from everyone, and then hire the Korean or Korean American that they wanted to in the first place. Would that make everyone feel better? |

It's not illegal anywhere to discriminate based on citizenship or limit jobs to people on specific visas. |

| Well I see plenty of ads that only want North Americans or only females and I'm sure that if I sent out identical sets of resumes with a white guy photo attached to one stack and a black guy photo attached to another stack I'd get VASTLY more responces from the stack with the white guy photo. The job market here is pretty seeped in racism. |
...and the American job market is not discriminatory? The racism and misogny in the US is less direct and more subtle...
That's why the US found need to establish a whole government agency to prosecute unfair hiring practices (Equal Employment Opportunity Commision).. |

You fill in the blank. Can we agree on hiring practices?

And why could you not have said this in the OP instead of making people prove this is not exclusive to Korea? |
