There are no categories here, just use adjectives, nouns etc. Cool

Only one question on this thread. Feel free to expand. Very Happy

Are you a winner or a loser? Discuss. Shocked

I have a failed marriage. I have no kids. I own no home.

I have a degree, almost 4 years of international English teaching experience. I'm quite slim for a 38 year old.

I am hygienic. Smile

It's hard to summarize ones own life in a few sentences. But after I do the MA in TESOL, I'll feel a bit of a success. Wink

Hopefully, then I'll get even better jobs. I also own land in Brazil and America, that at least sounds quite impressive.

Feel free posters to go off on a tangent and discuss anything no matter how trivial, as long as it can be tied into how successful your life has/hasn't been so far. Laughing

I'm Bi-winning. I win here and I win there.

Seriously though, I have paid accommodations, the easiest job in the world with a nice paycheck, I'm college educated, I'm healthy and my life is one big party where there's never a dull moment in this crazy moonland.

Conversely, I see people I knew at home on facebook (I know, I know, it's not a good measure of a person's life, but still) and they keep on retreating into more and more boring lives, getting fatter, having kids, watching American Idol and I can't help but think about how sad and boring it must be to live that life.

You have tried marriage and have a wealth of experience from it, have a less burdened present and future without childraising duties or ties to a particular plot of land. Really, the most interesting people and greatest experiences come from experiments and journeys, not living the typical middle class lifestyle. Consider these pros not cons. Re-define your life.

Relevant for your resume and dates but other than your potential next boss and girlfriend, WGAF?

What kind of person are you? Do you have good friends? Do you maintain good relationships with family? Do you do anything interesting in your free time? What life experiences have thrilled or scared you? What will you really look back on in old age and smile at?

Don't let your life be defined by shallow criteria of near strangers. Read some autobiographies to find out how amazing lives can be. The depth of experience isn't often observable on first glance, except for obvious ones like trying to surf, travelling around the world, designing a new product, etc.

Who are you trying to impress? A grad degree, a good job and property are practical, material resources that ensures a source of income. I guess it can be definitive of one's life if one is status conscious and has ambitions of upward mobility in that regard. Can't help but think though that what defines your life is something more basic and set earlier in life, that a little self analysis would uncover. In fact, we all lead lives defined in part by our earlier experiences, and that part may in fact be much bigger than we usually acknowledge.

There are so many ways to define a life, and the most important, illuminating and interesting ways are not those seen on first glance.

I'm a CLASS A LOSER. I have nowhere else to go and nothing else to do with my life besides "teaching" here in Korea. I am pretty clueless when it comes to teaching so I just waste time in class. I have no friends here and if it wasn't for Dave's ESL Cafe I don't know how I would ever get by not only in this country but in my life as well.
The only thing I got going for me is many women find me attractive but once they get to know how really eccentric and just downright weird I am they don't last long so I make it a point to not say much about myself and just focus on who they are and what they like. They take it as me being very unselfish and extremely caring as to how they feel about things but in reality it is just a guise to cover up how strange I really am.

I am openly neurotic. I don't like getting close to people so I come off as standoffish when I am just trying to preserve myself. I have very fragile self esteem.
I constantly see my life as something that happens in the future. Waiting to finish school. Waiting to get out of Korea. Waiting to buy a house. I forget sometimes that my life in the now counts too. I think I should work harder to achieve my goals rather than just expect things to happen on a timeline.

I have two older sisters, one of which is economically successful and much more intelligent than I am. The other one is very beautiful and she and her fiance just bought a house. I am very jealous of my sisters.

In a lot of ways I am happy, but in a lot of ways I am demented. I am happiest when I stop comparing myself to others and just accept that I would rather have a Twin Peaks marathon or an MC Chris dance party for two with my husband than go out and deal with new people.

I have no direction in life. I am forgiving. I am $15,370 in debt. I am loving. I am a hypocrite. I am kind. I feel more emotionally close to my computer than to my family. I am healthy. I feel powerless. I have true friends. I am lonely. I am peaceable. I am prideful. I am patient. I am unmotivated. I am faithful.

I do not boast in my strength, but in my weakness.

The evils in the world at times make me feel physically ill. The good in the world constantly brings tears to my soul.

That's a great opening to a bildungsroman. You should write.

i'm a loser, and if i were to say otherwise i'd be lying in the face of obviousness. real winners would be too busy flying in jets juggling exotic car keys deciding on which 3 star restaurant to dine at with their supermodel dates to come to a forum to declare their victory. we're all middle class. we're all losers. Sad

I have no student debt, credit card debt, mortgage or car loan. I have no wife or children. Therefore, I am a free man.
