| my PS middle school teacher asked me if there's any software i want. what should i get? i'm thinking maybe photoshop, but i don't use photoshop enough.... any other recommendations??? |

I'm a bit preachy about this subject, but one thing I wish schools the world over would start doing is encouraging students and teachers to use free software tools. Not just price free but license free. A lot of linux distros are very easy install now and they come with any possible tool you need. If it works for Google, there's no reason it couldn't work for public schools. It would also encourage students to LEGALLY use these tools, do whatever they want with them, and maybe someday develop their own. |

| Just tell them to give you the money and you'll pick it out. Then just pirate a copy of Photoshop or something and pocket the money. It's stupid to think that you need new software of some sort to help you teach. |

| for the class and possibly personal use. i mean, i could use photoshop to prepare some presentations. if i had adobe premiere, i could use it for my afterschool classes and do some movies/skits. |

If they do give you money, you could just find a free program and still pocket the money  |
