For those who are teaching at public schools:
Do you keep track of how many hours are spent teaching?
I've only been at my school for two months and I teach an extra hour of class per week (not counting after school).
So far I haven't been counting hours taught a week.
Last month and this month there were days where I did not teach some of my regular classes (because of tests/events)--I didn't keep track. So now I'm left wondering if that will be incorporated into my after school teaching pay. I haven't been paid for after school (from last month) yet due to budget reasons, so that's why I don't know.
I guess I should have counted. I've been kind of distracted though, admittedly. Anyway, is counting hours the 'norm' or am I being weird? |

| Hours should be in the contract, and you should be keeping track of them. When they go above 25, stop teaching. When they go above the number in the contract, request overtime pay. Don't be afraid to pack up and leave. You are not a slave. |

| Agreed with lifeinkorea. They can't force you to work overtime, and if overtime is over 25 hours, then I would pack up my stuff after that and be gone until the next week. |

| I do, but only because I like to know what classes I'm teaching. |
