I'm gonna be starting my 3rd contract (4th year) teaching ESL and was informed recently by a potential employer that I'll now need to get an apostilled copy of my degree. I've always just used the actual "real McCoy" diploma in the past and never had a problem.

Anyone know if this is an actual new requirement or is the employer just stupid?

I can only speak from my recent experience but I start teaching next month and all my employer needed was a copy of my diploma notarized.

Definitely a new requirement. Hope it doesn't put a monkey wrench in your plans.
