she's taking a break from uni and uploaded her resume. she's a sculpture major looking to teach art in english but ktdom.com offered her a job which she thought was weird because its got nothing to do with her resume.
my gf says according to their website, it's something similar to naver. http://corp.ktdom.com/ that's the site. they are offering her pretty good starting pay and she's thinking its too good to be true. anyone know of this company or heard anyone who works/worked there? |

They just want her to be a racing girl. You know, wear latex bikini clothes and dry hump race cars. They will pay her well, but there will come a time where she will be asked to do some unsavory things. If she says "no", they'll fire her.
The model/talent/entertainment industry for women in Korea is not something you want your wife or gf or daughter doing. It's well known their talent agencies prostitute them out if they're not making enough legitimate money. There were a couple of actresses that killed themselves over this, yet nothing is being done about it.
As for her just getting an offer that has nothing to do with resume and so quickly, that should be a red flag for anyone. If a company is just willing to hire you based on resume alone, it must be because no one else will take that job. The good jobs, ones worth having, will have you thoroughly vetted by the potential employer before hand.
Easy come, easy go. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. |

If your girlfriend values herself and her self respect, tell her not to take the job. Otherwise, move on. |

I think she should take the job, but keep a wary eye open for sexual misconduct and report it to the police. The law here in Korea is the same (almost) as any other civilized nation: sexual slavery is banned. So, if she ever encounters harassment of any kind she should report it to the police. If they don't take it seriously, then to the media. It's a human rights violation. |

i think it's better to avoid it all together. she's kind of wary of the job. they are offering 1.8 mil and she hasn't even graduated yet.
isn't it sad though, that sexual harassment seems to be such a huge problem in the korean corporate world? |

being that its coming from a country where its male dominated and sex of a person almost determines their intellectual level and abilities im not surprised.
on a side note, i saw only foreign girls on that website, but i only glanced at it too. id be wary or avoid it altogether |

Unfortunately, thousands of years of Confucianism > sixty or so years of Western-style governance. While I think Korea is getting better and is in many ways deserving of it's first world designation, culturally and otherwise, I still believe that an adjosshi can easily get away with forcing his female underlings to do unsavory things in order to hold on to their jobs.
I think that in some of these situations, the female will do what they're told (regardless of how bad it is). In other situations, they will refuse and bite the bullet. I believe the rarest situation is the one where the woman goes to the authorities and reports the adjosshi given it's up in the air whether or not the authorities will listen.
I don't have statistics to back this up (I doubt there are any) but it's what I've gleaned from more than three years of living here. I know people who've had to do this and I know people who are dating Korean girls who were in these kinds of situations when they were younger.
This is also a culture where sex with someone who isn't your significant other isn't always considered cheating.
If I were the OP, I wouldn't be comfortable with someone I cared about working this kind of job. At it's very best, she's still going to be a stalker/pervert magnet during working hours. |

Why would you post this here????
Good grief man, discuss this with HER or with actual FRIENDS of yours. Why would you put this up for discussion with complete strangers online?
Anyway, good luck to you both. |

I would suggest tattooing in Korean: "A foreigner was here a few hours ago" just below her belly button. |
