I just watched a really great Earth Day special featuring great Indian environmental activist Vandana Shiva. She was joined by the equally brilliant Canadian adviser to the UN on water issues, Maude Barlow and respected journalist Amy Goodman.

If you want to learn about the truth about environmental issues (in India & around the world) instead of the hot air exhaled by politicians and the corporate sponsored mass media, please watch this special. It's really worth your time.

You have a couple of days to catch it while it's still on the website. They will probably change the video on Monday (North American time zone)

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

You're welcome!

If you liked the main report, you might like to check out the web exclusives on the bottom right hand side of the page. There's more from Vandana Shiva and others.

It's great information.

Vidana Shiva is also featured on one of my favorite docos entitled, "Dirt, the Movie." It's easily available on the web though I went so far as to order a legit copy of it. Very uplifting, hopeful feeling to it in spite of the dead (from suicide) Indian farmer in it. My 6th grade students were particularly interested in watching it because of the opportunity to see a real-live dead person.

Great movie. Narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Wow! Dirt - The Movie looks very interesting.

Thanks for telling us about it. I will watch it for sure. I agree with your policy of buying the original dvd. While you can't buy all the movies you watch, if a particular one was especially well-done and you want to vote for it with your money, I say "sure. go ahead and buy it." The dvd often also has extra features that are interesting.

I do the same.

Ebay is a good place to hunt for cheaper prices on dvds.
