So I have about 3 months left. Time is slipping away and I will be out of here pretty soon. Any suggestions, things I must see before I leave? So far Jeju-do is on the list (volcano, beach, hike).
I really haven't done much sight seeing here. My experience in Thailand has encouraged me to avoid beaches and touristy places. I think Gyeongju, and the nearby Namsan, is a must. |

| Don't run around trying to eat all the strange foods that you can and seeing all the tourist-y stuff that you can. Instead, spend time with the friends that you have made and build into those relationships. They are priceless. |

Make sure you buy some souvenirs to keep for yourself. The last time I went home, I made sure to bring home souvenirs for family and friends, but I didn't have anything for myself. This time, I am shipping some things home and buying myself a few things so I will have something to display in my home as reminders of my time here.
I second the shiny suit. You will need a couple of sparkly, bejeweled ties to wear with it. |

Don't knock Pattaya. The long Pure white sand and crystal clear waters make it an ideal honeymooning place. You can quite literally spend hours on the beach and have no one bother you. Pattaya is a good family Christian vacation spot for the upright moral global citizens. It's the ultimate vacation for the Politically correct person and an ideal place for a someone who has recently finished a degree in womens studies. |

Puckett. I was sold a pair of rusty nail clippers, after carefully selecting a rust free pair. In fact, all the ones I saw were rust free. Until I got back to the hotel. Highlight of the trip (there: I had a better time in Bangkok).
Mostly it was my first vacation ever and I did what was expected of me: I went to a beach in a strange land. Amazing enough this beach had sand, water and noisy tourists. Only thing it had over the beaches back home was old topless German woman.
Those I can do without.
Anyways my next vacation, wherever it may be, will be off the beaten path. At least more so thank Puckett (makes me think: 'Puck-it, I'm going home'). Thinking the area around Chiang Mai would be isolated (enough). |
