I'm interested in learning about a school I saw advertised on a job site, called Fortian School. Has anyone ever heard of this hagwon? It seems to be legit (up front airfare, wow!) and the conditions seem pretty good, but I'm just wondering if anyone has ever heard of it before. Anyone?

Yes, you can learn more about their educational philosophy at www.forteantimes.com.

I never worked for Fortian, but I worked for the owner at his previous endeavor.

If you choose that school, be prepared to do a lot of extra work. You will most likely need to prepare your own monthly written tests. Prepare your own monthly video tests, which you then must put on to CDs in case any of the insane Mokdong (if this is the Mokdong branch) moms want to come in and watch. You will also need to call each one of your students for about 10 minutes each, every month. And lastly, be prepared to work like crazy during intensive periods.

Most likely you would get paid correctly, and on time, but you probably won't receive medical insurance or pension benefits.

Unless he is offering a high salary (I made 2.8M working for him years ago, and even then I felt cheated), I would possibly look elsewhere.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll see what it's all about.
