| Possibly. I honestly just think their well of work has dried up. I see other postings in other places with other job postings. Who, knows? The Shadow knows. |

| Old topic, I know...but has anyone dealt with Park much recently? Posts here make them sound pretty good, but you can never tell who is giving you the straight dope. Can I trust them if they vouch for a hagwon? |

How could you possibly get that impression from the posts here? |

| I've recently dealt with them. As soon as I said I was looking for a position in Seoul, they said that there were no jobs available in Seoul right now. That was it... |

I used Park English in 2009. They got me a good job, but the boss turned out to be an egomaniac tyrant. Even so I looked into using them again this year to find my second job in Korea. But then I noticed that their website endorses housing deposits and a higher tax rate. I later found out that some of the jobs listed on their site that look so nice all turn out to have a catch. And in the case of my previous job, the recommendations that they use from previous teachers were from their first week at the job. If you ask all those teachers now, they would not say the same thing.
Don't trust any recruiter to vouch for a hagwon. Do your own research. They are a business and want you to sign to make their money, but there are recruiters that are helpful. Unfortunately, I have been looking for a legit hagwon since Feb. and every one so far has had some surprise/catch. And the last job I had with the crazy boss was with a government job. |

I used them back in 2007. I had a pretty decent hagwon gig.
I tried them again last year because I was happy with them. But they didn't even try to help me. |

| They are talking to me about a job, sounds like they are for sure going to offer me a contract, but I haven't gotten one yet, so I don't know yet if there's a "catch." But I talked to a guy who works at the hagwon now and is in his final month of his contract, and he says it's legit. Reading Dave's makes me paranoid, so I'll be on the lookout once I get a contract, but it looks like this is a decent job. |

| I applied to them and only heard back about a month later. By that time I already had a job through a different recruiter. I wouldn't bother with them again. |

| They worked great for me the first time i came to Korea. Very easy to talk to and they dont out alot of pressure on you while looking at contracts. Alot of my friends got jobs that they liked through them too. If i were you i would go with them. |

By "catch" I meant longer hours, forced overtime, large housing deposits or fees, shared housing, no pension, high tax rates, etc. Sometimes they are upfront about it, but most of the time, you only find out when you read/interpret the contract and talk to the current teachers. Yes, Dave's can make you paranoid, but it's good to be careful |

I wanted to say, my experience with them was very poor! Different recruiters, I am sure are different, but the recruiter I worked with was just bad.
I understand how recruiters work and I was basically just a sales figure. However, my recruiter was aggressive, rude and pushy! I told her, I was working with other recruiters and she changed her tone. I'm not sure if she lied to me or did not know how to communicate with the schools. The only time she would e-mail me back is when she wanted something. I could never get her to respond to me when I had important question, I understand you work with other people, but on subject line I had important! She also blew up my phone to ask me a dumb question. She called me 16 times in one hour from 2AM to 3AM. She also blamed me because my FBI background check had yet to come in, because I have control over that.
If you have any questions, feel free to msg me. Overall, I don't recommend anyone using ELS Park! |
