I am looking for a Korean Immigration source that can advise those nations that can apply for an E2 Visa for English Language Teaching in Korea. Is there an official source? I have been unable to find any source apart from secondary sourced websites and I would like to know which nationalities can teach English in South Korea.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

They were listed on the MOJ website before the last set of changes and the page disappeared. I haven't looked for the updates since they last changed the pages.

They ARE in the policy handbook at the local immigration office (as are the exceptions to the main 7 that ARE allowed).

They may still be covered on the visa application and procedures specifics pages on the immigration website (immigration.go.kr - NOT the hikorea website.).

.

Ttompatz, much appreciated. I am aware which countries are available and have found the following information:

http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/InfoDetailR_en.pt?categoryId=2&parentId=382&catSeq=385&showMenuId=374&visaId=E2

The nationalies that are eligible for the E2 visa are in the policy handbook like Tom has said.

If you visit some of the Korean consulate sites, you will also find this list.

Are you looking for exceptions?

Sorry, I can't find this list from the consulates. Sad

Have you got a link? I would like to try to link those that are considered 'native' being able to teach in South Korea and those have English as a Second Language being unable to teach in Korea, ie. Singapore, Malaysia, etc. It is a small but integral part of my essay about Korean education policy. So far, I have found the information incredibly vague and this ambiguity could lead to some varieties of English users being able to teach whilst others are unable to.

Apologies for this thread but I hope there is a link.

I have found a news article quoting those eligible countries available to apply for the E2 Visa: http://www.gmanews.tv/print/106224 (scroll down a little)

This is more like it. Again, the subject of this article is interesting and I will be including this in my essay. Thank you all for those that tried to help and make some suggestions.
