I have neither off.

And I'm furious.

Other people have a slightly better deal than me.

So not fair.

Only two public holidays in the span of a week.

Urge to kill, rising!

No one at my school has said anything to me about those days. I assume I'll probably have to work them. Or I'll show up to work next Friday and no one will be there, much like on my school's anniversary last Monday that no one told me about. Rolling Eyes

Early in march, every public school issues a year-long school calendar detailing every special event. All the other teachers have it -- ask for a copy.

The dates arent necessarily carved in stone but it generally provides a pretty reliable guide.

You are furious because you have to work regular hours that aren't national holidays?

Just because other people get them off does not make you in any way entitled to those days off.

My point exactly. I though "only two public holidays in the span of a week" might've hinted at my sarcasm.

School Sports day Wednesday - no class
City-wide sports festival Friday - no class but have to come to school
Mon - come to school.

Vice-principal wanted me to work a city-wide event on Sat. with extra pay (80,000won) but I said no to being an English monkey and it's not in the contract.

I'll call in a sick day Monday.

It doesn't bother me. Just means we have a longer summer vacation than those who get the weekend off.
