Are there any Japanese ESL jobs that pay 20k like Korea? I think I saw somewhere that that's how much you get paid in japan.

So I'm guessing only high-end companies in Japan pay 40k ish and all others, Japanese and Korean, pay 20k?

Oh my, I just noticed from the JET programme page that they are paid 3.6 mill yen which is 44k... that's rather high for somebody who has just a liberal arts degree, I thought liberal arts majors get about 30 something k job. I guess the competition would be fierce? If I come from a university like UMich does that help my chances a lot?

Just wondering if you like the tropics could you request JET to place you in Okinawa? If JET doesn't assign you to an apartment can you choose the lowest priced apartment, and how much would that cost in Okinawa?

So what kind of things should you have on your resume to beat the competition to land a job in the JET programme?

Do you need a new username for the Japan forums? I think i might be having browser problems. It keeps logging me out of the Korean forum and can't log in on the Japan forum (unless u need a different username which would be strange)

Yes you need a new name for that forum. The international job forum is not linked to the Korean one.
