What's happened now is an Obama re-election campaign ruse. Truth has no place in military and political affairs these days.

I knew it wouldn't be long until the conspiracy theorists showed up.

Anyway if the US government wanted to fake the death of Bin Laden it would have been done during the Bush admin.

That didn't take long, did it?

Maybe that's why the reports all say the army has the body, just so they can squelch rumors like this one. There will still be nay-sayers...check the joking reference to a long form death certificate above. There will be some for whom it won't be a joke.

This represents a huge setback for anti-American leftwing civil rights lawyers:

The same government that is seeking to kill Anwar al-Awlaki has prohibited attorneys from contesting the legality of the governments decision to use lethal force against him, states the complaint.

The compalint was jointly filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights. It asks the court to strike the federal rule requiring lawyers to obtain a license as an unauthorized violation of the attorneys' constitutional rights.

Well, I'm sure this patriotic homeowner in Arizona didn't mind having left-wing anti-American lawyers defend his right to fly an historic American flag on his property.

I can't believe I'm hearing conservatives and Obama haters trying to spin this or deny it.

It must really be sad to not be able to celebrate this day with the rest of us, simply because you don't like the President that got it done.

I'm glad we finally got him though.

No. But maybe we can stop bombing Pakistan? They found him in a mansion outside Islamabad.

The al-Qaeda leader was killed in a ground operation in a mansion outside Islamabad in an operation based on US intelligence, reports said.

I agree, now that we got him, we need to keep out of Pakistan! We should allow the Pakistanis to deal with the people in that area. They should be pressured intensely by the USA to deal with them in one way or another.

That may be true, but a lot of serious things were not done without Bin Laden's approval. I think Al Queda might be more fractured and more unable to do the things that they could do under Osama bin Laden.
But on the other hand Ho Chi Minh's death didn't damage the Vietnamese communists goals for Vietnam. This is sort of the same thing.

Let me try that again...counting on my fingers...my second guess is 54. (There is a reason I teach English and not math. Anyway, not 75 or 80.)

It's Arithmetic, I know Math teachers, presumably pretty good teachers, good at math, that can't do Arithmetic very easily.

It's a pity he couldn't have been arrested, then the US could have gotten some real answers. Now there is a real huge loss for intelligence gathering.
