60 minutes in an hour, 525, 948 minutes in a year. If just 1%, that still makes 5259. That means there are 5258 other people (from just the pool of your peers) possibly interested in that degree!
For everyone else, it's obviously garbage. |

I visited this site and talked online with them. They said I could get a degree of any kind-B.A., M.A. or whatever by study, or by being credited with my current experience. I asked if it was recognized by South Korea and he said yes. The degree was even signed by the secretary of education in the U.S.
Is this legit? |
They are NOT legit.
They are a diploma mill.
Their accreditation is fake by a fake accreditation service.
They are NOT recognized by K-immi and an application with a degree from them would be categorically denied and any further application MAY be denied for the previous use of said fraudulent documents.

The funny thing is that I've run into a handful of people who have gotten away with this. It's not easy to move up to anything beyond entry level teaching, but you can get it apostiled and receive transcripts like any other university, and Kimmi sometimes recognizes "universities" like Corllins as a legit place.
The biggest problem is that sometimes they look into the accreditation, and this place is accredited by some online accreditation panel - likely in cahoots with Phoenix university, Corlinns, etc. Still, it works sometimes. If I had a lot of free money to throw around, I'd buy a Ph. D just to see if I could make something happen. |

This is "in cahoots"? And, before anyone makes a sarcastic comment about my education, no, I did not graduate nor even attend University of Pheonix. This is my alma mater. I don't have anything against the other school, though. And, FYI, UoP has a presence on the US military bases in Korea, "in cahoots," if you will, with the military education centers.
Really, I don't get the hate for the outfit. |

Have you actually looked at the prices? $1,200 for a PhD? You are paying for a piece of paper and nothing more. |

You cannot get a university degree from your life experience.
You must do coursework or undertake a research project followed by the preparation of a thesis or both.
You may be exempted from some requirements of a degree based on recognition of prior learning. For example I was admitted to a graduate certificate in business without a bachelor degree on the basis that I had run a
business and worked for more than 5 years. When I passed the subjects in the graduate certificate I was allowed to continue and finish a coursework masters degree. Note I wasn't given a bachelor degree, I was just exempted from the requirement of holding one.
Definitely some Australian, and English universities allow you to do this, but it is very difficult, universities do not just hand out master degrees nor do they grade you more easily because you don't have the academic background. I was on campus and struggled, it would be considerably more difficult by distance learning. |

Apart from many famous people who have been given Honorary Degrees and PhD's from pretty much every major University in the world. Some of these people even go on to call themselves Dr's.
I don't have a problem with this as for the most part these people have done far more good in the world than some Professor who has never left the confines of the education system and is for the most part socially inept in the real world.
To the Op it sounds like a scam, why waste your money. Even legitimate online degrees from mainstrea Universities are not accepted by some Universities here. Some Universities, Kyeongnam (?) does accept them others don't |

Univ. of Phoenix is considered mainstream now. Some of you may not respect but HR departments do. For some majors like computer programming they are actually preferable over 'regular' unis because they have been turning out decent grads in those fields.
No, I didn't go there. I went to a well known fully accredited uni with a nationally ranked football team . I had an ex gf who worked in the HR dept of Bank of Am and they considered those degrees alongside state unis, etc. Other schools are accepted as well (Argosy and others).
As far as the diploma mills, many employers won't accept it, especially the large conglomerates. There are so many unis nowadays that the bigger HRs have a program that screens out diploma mills, however, many companies don't have it and as long as they can 'verify' its legitmacy they will accept. There are excellent colleges that many HR people have never heard of (like some of the little ivies). Some legit unis with names like Slipper Rock U in Penna and Transylvania Univ in Kentucky are not known.
The number of legit schools number in the thousands. Non legit ones can and do get by companies. |

I never really believed this was legit, but admit I had to pause when this guy from the site phoned me and said the paper they sell you gets signed by the Secretary of Education. Big, red flags went up and a few question marks after them...
...and by the way, I did not give him my cell number. He phoned me over the internet by some means of tracking. Creepy. |
