Don't forget the Bloc down to 3-4 seats and Duceppe getting defeated. The whole province went from light blue to orange. Remove Quebec and the Conservative majority is overwhelming!

I vote rhinoceros though.

I was really hoping for another Con minority.
This is kind of terrifying.

Well neither the Bloc or the Green party will have federal representation.

The Liberals are hanging in the 33-35 seat area.

The NDP is around 100 give or take a handful of seats. Probably end up a little over that once the dust has settled.

And the Conservatives look on track for a 160+ seat majority government

Not bad...not bad at all.

When I'm in Canada, I'm going to buy ten more guns. But this time I won't register them. With 10,000 rounds of ammunition, too.

If it's your right, go for it.

I'm curious to see how the NDP will do in opposition. Especially their MP's from Quebec. I'm guessing some of them weren't vetted very well by the party as a couple were on vacation when they won. Laughing

I'm from Alberta and I absolutely despise the Conservatives. As long as those Alliance members are still around I'll never vote for the Cons. I know the kind hateful stuff some of the former Alliance members can spew when not in earshot of a visible minority.

One of them was 19 years old.

Iggy has resigned.

The Libs are truly fooked.

Stay the course, stay the course.

Four years. Four years.

I think it will go something like this:

Day 1:

Layton: "Mr. Harper..."
Harper: "SHUT UP JACK!"

(4 year @#$^storm begins)

At least we won't get another election in 2 years.

The conservatives will do what they truly want for 4 years and next election we will be able to vote on those actions rather than some pseudo-political battle about gaining a few seats (or losing a ton in the case of the libs and the bloc).

My guess is that cuts will be made to a lot of government departments. The civil service in Ottawa will be hit hard. CBC may finally be privatized?
Gun registery will be gone.

Nothing too different on social policies. No changes to gay marriage or abortion laws.

That would be good. But I think it'll be more about cutting social programs and putting the money into the army or tar sands, which is crap.

The gun registry should stay since over 2/3 of Canadians support it. Also, that $2 per vote is a good idea, otherwise it would limit politics to the rich and connected. Of course the Cons don't care, since they are in power and forgot how the old PC's once had only 2 seats in the house in the early 90's.
