hey guys,
theres a big pension thread, but i didnt wanna go off topic, so i thought i'd start something new.
I just got off the phone with the pension office and asked them if i retro paid my pension from last year that my hagwon didnt take from my paycheck, if they would force my ex-employer to match the contribution. the dude's english wasnt great so i had to end the convo...
just curious if anyone actually was successful in doing this? |

Let's think about this.
The premise is you put 100 in, you get 200 out. If you put 100 in and you only get 100 out, then what is the point in paying the pension office? I would assume from this logical exercise that they do intend on collecting the other 100, otherwise it would be futile to take your money.
If you are asking more about the chances of the school paying the other half, you stand a greater chance by going ahead with it than continuing to do nothing. Each person's situation is different. I got pension from some schools and make agreements with other schools for no pension. |

IF you file and complaint and
IF you can show that you were an EMPLOYEE (have a copy of your contract) and
IF you pay your (full) share into the NPS
THEN the NPS will go after your old employer (s) for their share of the contributions.

thanks for that info, but i was already thinking along those lines, hence the reason why i am trying to go through the process.
im mainly wondering if anyone was actually successful in doing this.... |

Dont go to your former employer at all. If they didnt pay in the first place, they wont be jumping to pay now.
Deal with it through the pension office and let your boss be forced to pay AND take the penalty for not following the law and intentionally ripping off their employees.
Take the previously mentioned documents to the pension office, pay your share, and let the Pension Office do the rest. |

for what its worth, i did a little more research, then went to my ex-employer and asked him what he'd rather i do...
1) go to the labour board, then the pension office and make my contribution and wait until they force him to do so
or
2) or allow him to give me a cash settlement of about 80% of my total so that i dont have to rat him out...
he opted for #2. |
