Hi,
My passport expires January 2012 and I don't plan on leaving Korea until February 2012. I am currently in Canada on a little holiday to see my family between contracts and could renew my passport here. My question is this: What happens to the visa in my passport coming back into Korea? When I re signed my contract with the school, only my ARC card was updated. Does this mean I don't need the Visa coming back into the country?
Should I renew my passport now, or would it be better to wait and do it in Canada? Any help is greatly appreciated! |

| ARC trumps visa. You don't need it. But it's irrelevant since you retain your old passport. It's actually advised to retain your old passport and have it available when you travel, though it is not necessary. It is invalid but it is a good reference for immigration wherever you go. |
