I'm not much of a techy so thought i'd ask on here: Can you download from amazon.co.uk or amazon.com kindle e-books whilst in Korea? I was thinking that it would be a cheaper option than buying overpriced English paperbacks, Does anybody have any suggestions or alternatives?

Most definitely. I've purchased many. There are also a slew of other places where you may download books. Just make sure that they are in Kindle format or use a program like calibre to convert them.

also a lot of the free books are only free if you are in the US. However you can find most of the free books for free on other websites.

I thought a lot of the free books are only free is you have a US Kindle. I don't think it matters WHERE you are, it matters where you bought your Kindle. Registered to a US address, you get US stuff.
