Cheapest are found with the street vendors. It doesn't help you much but that is the truth. And that's often the case in Korea. A purchase that was planned and well thought out doesn't give you a feeling of satisfaction, but a chance buy on the street does. |

I have to disagree strongly that street vendors are the cheapest. If you have a car, there are loads of green houses along the many of the main roads on the outskirts of town with better prices. |

The last two plants I bought from the outskirts of town died in a very short period. They'd filled the pots with 80% styrofoam and a little bit of dirt on top. Was really disgusted with that, because I kept up on watering and care!
I will stick to the "Mother-in-law's tongue" plants. At least those don't die when I forget to water them. They just keep going. |

I have definitely noticed that pretty much any plant I buy has need to be re-potted with new dirt and a bigger pot. |

a little side-tracked, but still mostly on topic...
does anyone know if venus flytraps can be found (bought) in seoul, and if so, where? while i was teaching science last year, i kept trying to ask the students since i thought it would be a cool class thing to have a flytrap or two around eating bugs, but i got the feeling as if my students had never really seen/heard about them. |

You are missing the point. They are supposed to be "bonsai", la Japanese tiny trees.
Venus fly traps are called "파리지옥", "끈끈이 주걱". A quick look on G-market says around 5,000 - 15,000 won. |

i dont really see the point that hes suppost have missed. he never said anything about bonsais...
on to the topic, so i'm guessing theres no internet vendors for live plants? i was hoping some1 would be smart enough to set up a shop from outskirts of the city and go to the customers instead of them struggling to find the shop with their broken korean reading skill in a car they don't own |

Street vendors. Or just take a walk around and you're bund to see a florist/plant store. Daiso also carries live plants and gardening supplies. |
