How many students can a hogwan cram into a classroom? Is there a maximum?

Is there any limitations to ages in the same class? I have some 3 or 4 year olds in with 10 year olds.

I have noticed alot of adds that state 4-10 students per class right now i have a few classes with 15 or 16 students stuffed into a classroom that seats 12.

Any info would be appreciated Smile

I think there is no law on numbers, but your hagwon sounds like it will sink, so no surprise on your work problems.

Mixing ages is a sign that they don't have enough enrollment to create separate suitable classes. On the other hand putting too many in a single class is a sign that they need as many as they can take even if they can't pay another teacher to teach at that time. I think my two statements are a little contradictory...

Tell them you can't teach properly that way, so if there is a problem with the class tell them to feck off and don't bother you about it.

actually the school is doing well since I started (August) there has been an increase of about 70 students

we have two foriegn speakers

the reason they are cramming so many students into the classroom is that it the best time for them to come....it is particularily a problem between 3-6pm

all in all the school has about 240 students and the vast majority of them come between 3-6

You know hogwan owners...'you want your child to come to my school...and pay me 120,000 won a month sure we will cram them in somewhere.'

3.5 more months.....about 65 teaching days left
sigh Crying or Very sad

4:00 on MWF was the busiest at my old school. 5:30 on was dead. 4:00 on T TH was also dead, they preferred three classes per week I guess. I'm glad you are counting the days. Awesome.

70 new students. Do you think you will see any of that extra 7M per month? It's the boss's benefit when they come in, and your fault when they leave.
