Will I have to pay duty tax on an iPod Touch that is sent over from the US? The mp3 player is placed in a care package along with other food items and magazines. |

If the combined total of the care package (including shipping) is over 150k won then maybe (if it is evaluated).

Just ask the people sending to not list the iTouch on the list of contents. Should be fine. |

Anything over $150 you need to pay tax on. I believe it's 15%. |

You could also make sure the iTouch is out of original packaging and claim if they try to charge you to say it's yours and you didn't order it. I had a macbook sent and the post office called and tried to charge me, but I said it was mine before I came. Paid nothing. |

Even if it's out of the original packaging, the customs rules are the VALUE of the contents. People have been taxed before on personal possessions (myself, for one) so that is not a failsafe, fyi. |

Are you sure about that? If so, that is a bizarre rule. In most other countries duty and tax is applied to commercial purchases only. Warranty repairs and personal effects mailed home are not subject to tax. I suspect that you were charged simply because the value was marked as 150+ and the personal nature of the contents wasn't clear.
Whenever I mail things home to myself I always mark 'Personal goods - No commercial value' on the customs form. The tax free limit in Canada is $15 but they always arrive without charge. |

What if I have a "broken camera" (its used and in someways is less functional than new). Could I have this shipped from America and give it a listed value of like $10 or something similiar? |
