While I agree that teachers should be required to set a better example, this is not a great comparison. Are the kids going to inhale second-hand fat? I think not.

Fair enough. Kids suffering from IFO syndrome: Influential Fat Observation.

The cause of Obesity is in a gray area. It an be caused by genetics, a disease, or environmental factors.

Yes, having a healthy diet and exercise will help, but that is not always the case.

Since it is in the gray area of being a choice and a disease, to segregate obese people is wrong.

Although I do believe there are somethings that obese people should not have.

IE: Electric wheelchairs (Even though they walk perfectly fine), Handy cap stickers (Even though the only problem is that they are obese).

This does NOT fall in the same category as smoking since smoking is a choice.

In most cases, obesity is a choice.

People who are obese have certain issues, just as binge drinkers, smokers, people who are adult babies, people who are into BDSM, actors, passive aggressive people.. etc etc do. Unfortunately for obese people, it is startlingly obvious to the rest of us as they cannot hide the extra calories they intake.
This doesn't make them weak or bad people. It's just unfortunate for them that their addiction or problem is so physically obvious.

I can't eat meals that big =(

I'm jealous of all those fat people who gain weight without even trying. I've spent a long time trying to gain weight, and I gotta say:

(1) It costs MONEY to force feed that many calories down your gullet.

(2) Wow, do you do anything except eat? When I was trying to gain weight I found it hard to find the time to force enough calories down my throat to gain weight.

I guess the key is constant snacking? I found this hard to do when I was 'gaining' because I filled myself up so much on my 6 meals a day. I wasn't a snacker before and I guess I'm still not.

I guess one of the worst things in the world must be one of those fat people with the glandular problems. Since they are not perpetual motion machines, it must mean they are eating as much, or more food than they need to get by in order to maintain their obesity. So these poor saps are consuming vast buckets of sustenance every day due to glandular reasons just to maintain their unhealthy size. Worst disease ever. I feel sorry for you glandular obese folk. It must be expensive =(

How do you afford it? If there are cheap options for huge quantities of calories I want to know =) I need to gain still and cheapest source of calories is of interest..

Ah, This brings another point.

I also have a hard time gaining weight. (But I don't have a problem with it).

Why do obese people have to eat healthy in front of kids, yet the skinny people that eat unhealthy are ok?

Is it not the same concept? Role modeling?

I would think the skinny person eating unhealthy would be worse since it would make the kids "think" that they could eat the same way and not be fat. While seeing a obese person eat would give an image of being fat (which, lets face it, many Koreans are perfectly aware of and try to avoid).

So this is better?

http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/2010/12/30/caro-obit-anorexia.html

If you don't want obese people, don't hire them. But like everything else to do with ESL in Korea, employers hire people who they know they won't be happy with, then complain about them.
